KAWAKAWA is a music project of 12 waiata (songs)
and is yours to enjoy.
KAWAKAWA is a collection of affirmations, Māori world view, positivity and empowerment, drawn from Huia's experiences and observations of the world as a māmā, artist and culture collaborator.
Sitting at #4 in the Aotearoa charts and in the top 20 for 5 weeks, Kawakawa was the only original te reo māori album in the top 10 that month.
With electro-Māori styles, from DnB to indigenous songlines, KAWAKAWA Album is an emotional landscape that uplifts, evokes memories, and draws the audience in with sweet harmonies and thoughtful production. Each tune will have a bilingual V2 with featured artists coming in from around the world and remixes in 2026.
